An infusion of attached real estate in downtown Charleston is nearing completion. Here’s the rundown.
Both designed by McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture, the East Central Lofts at 599 Meeting Street/274 Huger Street and the 400 Meeting Street Apartments are slated for completion this summer. The 58,000 sq. ft. East Central Lofts will add 13 studio units, 23 one-bedroom spaces, 36 two-bedroom apartments, parking and commercial real estate to Charleston’s Upper Meeting Street area. Within walking distance of the College of Charleston and other area amenities, the modern, minimalist living spaces will be available in August 2013. The 400 Meeting Street Apartments are designed for students. Totaling 41 units, the $7.6 million project will feature four bedrooms and four bathrooms in each fully furnished unit. The complex is set to open before the start of the 2013-2014 school year. Construction on the Elan Midtown mixed-use project is also winding down. With on-site parking, nearly 7,000 sq. ft. of retail space and 200 luxury boutique units, Elan Midtown on 441 Meeting Street has been highly anticipated. These 0ne- and two-bedroom urban gems will be available starting in July. Upper-floor units should be complete by October 2013.
