Briar’s Creek in Johns Island, South Carolina is a Rees Jones designed 18-hole golf course community that consists of 300 acres of land with oak trees throughout. The entrance to the subdivision located on River Road isn’t anything but spectacular as a wooden sign that is in the form of a bird is the only marking feature. But the unknown subdivision is now the talk. Approx. 120 homesites are now available and range in price from $450,000 to $900,000. Fifty homesites have already been sold. The marketing of the project states Briar’s Creek is “understated elegance” and a golf-without-a-tee time lifestyle.
Currently there are 192 members of the golf club and the golf initiation fee is $150,000.
Who were the founding members of this club? Twenty members founded this project back in 2001. Amongst them were the chairman of GE (Jeffrey Immelt) and former billionaire energy executive (Robert McNair). Currently there are only two homes in Briar’s Creek.
