The condo-hotel project expected on Shem Creek has been scaled down according to Octavia Mitchellwith Channel 2 News (April 30, 2007).
The developers plans included removing the Big Game Billfish Bar and Grill and replacing it with a 3 story 165-room condo-hotel named, The Landing. However, these plans have been modified. Developers are no longer going to build residential homes, according to the News Channel. They are going to build 130 rooms (no longer 165) which will be used as office spaces. These expected changes will mean less traffic. Developers still need to submit drawings to the town which show the revisions. In addition, parking will be located under the building. Town Council will vote on the hotel in June. When will the construction begin if approved? It is unknown now.
I must admit, the story is confusing and I’m not 100% sure if this building will be devoted to only commercial with a few residential condos or not. As I get more info, I will pass it on. Thanks for your patience.
