American Airlines is expanding its presence at Charleston International Airport with new flights to and from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
The airline said it will launch twice-daily nonstop service between Charleston and Chicago on May 4. The seasonal flights will run through Nov. 3, a company representative said. American’s wholly owned subsidiary Envoy Air will use its Embraer175 aircraft, which typically seat 76 to 88 passengers for the flights.
The new flights are part of an expansion to five new destinations, including Charleston and Myrtle Beach. “Chicago plays a pivotal role in our global network, and these new destinations will ensure that our customers can efficiently get to where they need to travel,” said Franco Tedeschi, a regional vice president for American.
