The same company that is re-developing Oakbrook Station with a Lowes Foods announced it will develop Nexton Square within the Nexton development. The 17-acre Nexton Square tract sits along U.S. 17-A and Brighton Park Boulevard, adjacent to the Courtyard by Marriott and the Parks at Nexton. RealtyLink Commercial LLC said it purchased the tract with plans to create a 140,000-square-foot retail center that will feature a “walkable, urban experience” with restaurants such as Taco Boy, Halls Chophouse and Fuji Sushi. “We are excited to capitalize on the tremendous growth in Summerville with the acquisition of the Nexton Square site. Our vision for the development is to fill a void in the retail and service market with best-in-class local, regional and national tenants,” said Charles Fitzhenry, leasing director. The developer plan to break ground in the fall, with the first retailers opening in the spring.
